Is there a national workforce crisis just beyond the horizon? Many experts believe there is. However explaining just what its impact will be (and preparing to handle this impact) is a subject that is not getting much airtime.

While this topic has yet to steal the national headlines or lead on the nightly news, the effects of a national workforce crisis will be felt from our corporate boardrooms to our local neighborhoods. How do we communicate this crisis? Who needs to be part of the dialogue? Who is already stepping up to address this challenge on the local, national and global stage?

These questions and more provided the foundation for the San Diego Workforce Partnership's fifth annual Workforce Summit that took place on April 29th, 2005. The 2005 Workforce Summit was the biggest and best to date, as local, national and global business and public policy leaders descended on Downtown San Diego to weigh in on the state of our workforce and the strength of our economic future.
