REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
YOUTH COMMUNITY PLANNING
MINI-PLANNING GRANTS
The Workforce Partnership guided by the School-to-Career Youth Council is soliciting proposals for the procurement of four to six mini-planning grants to support the purpose of preparing regional plans that address the educational and workforce needs of youth in specific communities in San Diego County.
The Workforce Partnership is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that provides a variety of employment and training services to the region's employers and serves in addressing the education and training needs of area residents.
The purpose of these planning grants is to direct community investment strategies across systems, fost inter-agency agreements and relationships, and encourage the formation and the continued growth of collaboratives that focus on the development of coordinated educational and workforce strategies for youth, specifically but not limited to 14-21 year old youth. Mini-grants will not be awarded for the purpose of direct services to youth. This solicitation is for initial concepts for the community planning process not the final community plans themselves.
The amounts of the mini-grants will be between $5,000 and $10,000 each. The solicitation will be available for download from the Workforce Partnership's website, www.SanDiegoAtWork.com, on February 27, 2006. Proposals for mini-planning grants will be due by 3 PM, PST, Thursday, March 30, 2006.
The solicitation is also available by contacting Julie Benedict, Procurement Advisor, at (619) 228-2900 or for pick up at the Workforce Partnership's Reception Desk on the 4th floor of the address given below. Please direct questions regarding this RFP to youthrfp@workforce.org.
