FUNDING & NO-COST TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
Here at the San Diego Workforce Partnership, we partner with public and private agencies, local businesses, and educational institutions to create workforce solutions for the San Diego region. For job seekers, education and training are your keys to future success. For employers, the better equipped your employees are to perform the job, the stronger your workforce will be. Read on to see how you can take advantage of some key educational and training opportunities.
FOR BUSINESSES
Requests for Proposals:
Are you interested in providing goods or services to job seekers, youth or employers?

On-the-Job-Training:
Employers can take advantage of the On-the-Job Training program and be reimbursed for up to 50 percent of the wages or salaries earned by eligible new workers during their training period. Click here for more information.
Customized Training:
Employers can receive funding to pay for part of the cost of training eligible new hires at a training provider of their choice. Click here for more information.
FOR JOBSEEKERS
Higher Education Program:
Funded by President Obama’s American Recovery & Reinvestment Act, the program offers unemployed San Diegans the opportunity of receiving free job training in biotechnology, green jobs/clean technology, healthcare, and construction at local community colleges and university extended studies.

Individual Training Account Program:
Eligible jobseekers can receive up to $7000 to pay for the cost of education or training.

FOR TRAINING PROVIDERS
Eligible Training Provider List
Accredited institutions may apply to be included on the California State Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL). Job seekers from the One-Stop Career Centers may access training at locally approved institutions through Individual Training Accounts (ITAs).
For new providers, please include the following when submitting to the San Diego Workforce Partnership for review:
All applications submitted to the San Diego Workforce Partnership must be approved through the Board cycle before being submitted and approved at the State level. Please be advised that this process may take up to four months.
