COMMUNITY SERVICES

The San Diego Workforce Partnership knows that there are a wide variety of special challenges facing military families. We’ve compiled some additional community resources that can offer you and your family valuable, low cost assistance. Read on for more information.

ADDITIONAL RESOURCES

San Diego is a proud military town, as is evident by the abundant number of resources in the San Diego area focused on serving its large military community and their families. The following Web sites will provide some of the most varied and in-depth information available.

Marine Corps Community Services Miramar
"Serving those who serve." This outstanding Web site includes many organizations that promote a higher quality of life for Marines and their families. Includes family services, MCCS directory, special events, enduring families, spouse support groups, job search assistance, training opportunities, and much more.

Marine Corps Community Services Camp Pendleton. Designed to increase the quality of life of the marine family, MCCS divisions provide quality services and activities. The Web site includes information on personal services, support divisions, transition assistance, job search and job training organizations for all active duty, retired, military family members, and DOD employees.

 Fleet and Family Support Center
"Dedicated to meeting your needs at home and at sea.” The FFSC helps enhance the quality of life for all military members and their families. This informative website includes: Navy Family Ombudsman Program, FFSC locations, command programs, transition assistance and spouse employment, workshops and resources.

Department of Veteran Affairs
Information on services such as vocational rehabilitation, employment services, education, job opportunities, partners, compensation and veteran benefits.

Employment Development Departments
Access the “Veterans” page in left hand column. It provides information on EDD’s programs to help veterans obtain employment and job training in California. Includes a complete directory of veteran services. Websites of interest to Veterans:Networking for transitioning Marines
