A PATH TO PROSPERITY: CAREER SERIES
San Diego's Leading Industries
Coinciding with the San Diego Workforce Partnership’s release of its Path to Prosperity Revisited study, the Workforce Partnership has developed the Path to Prosperity Career Series, which provide details on San Diego’s leading Industries and their occupations. The series offers insights on San Diego-region industries and career pathways that lead to participation in the region’s prosperity.
The series of booklets covers 8 local clusters, 2 occupational - Automotive Occupations and Skilled Trades Occupations - and 6 industry including Communications, Computer and Electronics, Healthcare Sector, Life Sciences, Software, and Travel and Entertainment.
Each booklet presents local information on the industry and its occupations including wages, growth projections, required skills, and education or training. Within each cluster paths or ladders are identified that provide the next job-level in a career that can, with more experience, or by additional training or education, move workers along the path to prosperity.
