ON THE JOB TRAINING

The On The Job Training (OJT) program is a wage reimbursement program that defrays the cost of hiring and training a new employee. In recognition of these costs, 50% of up to the first 500 hours’ worth of wages are repaid to the employer.

Skilled job seekers who have been laid off, are making career changes or are re-entering the labor market and have accessed career center services may be eligible for OJT. The employer’s company policies and procedures are not affected, and San Diego Workforce Partnership reduces the employer’s workload by performing virtually all of the necessary OJT paperwork.

The OJT Program will provide employers with new employees who are skilled, motivated, pre-tested and trained to meet the employer’s needs.
