TRADITIONAL RESUMES

The Purpose of a Resume is to get you to the Next Step: THE INTERVIEW

A traditional resume is a "hard copy" version of your job skills and experience that potential employers look at and use to determine whether or not they want to interview you. Even if you respond to a position by filling out an online or offline application, be prepared to follow the application up with a hard copy resume. You should also bring extra copies of your traditional resume to your job interview.
Here is some information to help you develop an effective resume:

  1. Answer a few questions to determine the best resume format
  2. Study the standard sections for your chosen format
  3. Use the top tips on resume writing
  4. Pass the appearance test
  5. Compare two sample resumes
  6. Check the list of action verbs
