SCHOOL-TO-CAREER YOUTH COUNCIL
The School-to-Career Youth Council is a collaborative partnership among employers, educators, community-based organizations, parents and youth dedicated to providing a variety of opportunities for youth, ages 14-21, to develop the necessary technical and workplace skills. Its mission is to build and support a regional youth workforce system and to manage state and federal workforce development funds on behalf of vulnerable youth throughout San Diego County. The Youth Council is a mandated group under the Workforce Investment Act and provides a unique opportunity to create, through a common vision, a system of activities and services that will enable youth to be successful in education and the workplace. Fifty Youth Councils across California oversee their local youth workforce system and make youth policy recommendations to the local Workforce Investment Board.
The School-to-Career Youth Council subcommittees are the: Executive Committee, Capacity Building Committee, and Youth Advisory Board. Click here for more information.
