MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS INTERNSHIPS

Incredible opportunity for sharp individuals to learn in a highly dynamic environment as part of the Marketing & Communications team for the San Diego Workforce Partnership. 

The Marketing & Communications Team is a combination of community, public and government relations. We support the communications needs for the organization, our three governing boards, and our regional network of One-Stop Career Centers.

Internship Qualifications: open to undergraduate college student(s) preferably with junior or senior standing. Those with communications, journalism, writing, advertising, marketing, graphics design, and/or related coursework/work-experience preferred. Willingness to learn and an interest in community and social issues is a plus. Must have own transportation. Bilingual (Spanish) ability desirable. We are seeking someone comfortable with the Microsoft Office Suite, Internet/email. While not required, knowledge of Mac (G4) graphics programs: Illustrator 8.0, Quark Xpress 4.1, Photoshop 6.0; Pagemaker 6.5 is a plus.

Position is a mix of marketing, media, corporate communications, public relations, creative and administrative duties. Support includes writing, broadcasting and pitching press releases, calendar advisories, and producing collateral materials, such as brochures, press kits, flyers, giveaways, signage, etc.; assist in coordinating special events; writing and placing articles, ads, newsletters (on PC and Mac platforms) for our boards and staff; photographing events, and special projects. If you are an excellent communicator, great with the intricacies of detail and accuracy and multiple project management---as well as being positive, proactive, responsible and resourceful—this is the place for you!

Duration: 12-16 weeks (unless other arrangements are made in advance). Please note: We accept resumes year-round

Time Commitment: Flexible schedules (days and hours); however, the level and nature of projects typically requires a 15 to 20 hours per week minimum commitment.

Academic Credit: We will be more than happy to complete academic forms so eligible student interns can receive college credit. We can provide letters of recommendation, select training, and great networking opportunities, as well as an outstanding and dynamic work experience in a team environment.
